About Us

Stranraer Skills Station was set up in 2010 by friends and colleagues Elaine McCourtney and Gillian Templeton whose ethos of professional and responsive care is reflected in the way that support is delivered, promoting, choice, dignity, outcomes and control for all individuals.

We are local girls and reactive employers, looking to provide jobs for local people and bring prosperity to the area

Providing the right support, at the right time, in the way the individual desires are fundamental to all we do

Elaine McCourtney, Director

Originally their plan was to support Adults with Learning Disabilities through their Support Service registration with the Care Inspectorate. However, the duo quickly identified a need to register as a Care at Home Service to enable them to fully meet all needs of those using their services and successively developed an expanding Care at Home Service alongside.
